Our Sunday services run from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a communal meal. We believe the Sunday services at the First Spiritual Science Church stand unique among all the worship services in metro Denver.
Drawing on our roots in the spiritualism movement, applying the metaphysical principles that transcend New Thought and New Age to embrace the universals of western and eastern religions, our Sunday service offers a transformational experience designed to advance your personal and spiritual growth.
Doors open on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. for spirit-guided energy healings in the upstairs sanctuary and the downstairs healing room. All healers must be members of the church, and all healers have signed an ethics policy agreement, such as asking your permission before touching or before sharing any insights. Healings again are offered in the sanctuary near the end of the services.
Services include a statement of our of Spiritual Science beliefs, live and recorded music with groups songs and interludes (fourth Sundays feature singer Richard Curtis Simpson), a guided meditation, a chant for world peace accompanied by crystal bowls, and prayers for healing ourselves or others. An inspirational sermon is offered each Sunday from one of our ministers, a congregation member or a guest speaker.
Services normally close with messages from our spiritual readers, some of whom are clairvoyants or mediums. All readers must be members of the church, and all readers have signed an ethics policy agreement, such as asking permission before sharing a message. On the third Sunday of each month, a nonsectarian communion is offered instead of the readings.
Services are followed by a potluck lunch downstairs. Those who do not bring food to share are invited to contribute a love offering or to help with cleanup. The fellowship during the meals can open the doors to lasting friendships.
